Hey Mama!!
Sometimes I wish that motherhood wasn’t so stressful. I’m pretty confident that I’m the one complicating things.. but that’s a story for another day.
As a mama, you have so much on your mind. There’s that never ending to-do list, another toddler tantrum, and then that weird rash that just started on your other child.
There is never a dull moment.. I’m convinced!
But between overwhelm, burnout and stress… it can feel like we can never catch our breath.
Remember how I mentioned…. maybe I was just complicating things?
It’ true, I was making motherhood WAY more difficult for myself.
I thought I was selfless and had an endless amount of energy to pour into everything and everyone. So, I catered to everyone else’s wants and needs.
This was so toxic.
At some point, I was thumbing through an old journal and found some notes I had written down about being a Family-Focused Family.
This was the answer.
So, I began expressing my needs to my family.
I later realized this was one of the most helpful and selfless things I could have done.
If you are interested in learning more about a Family-Focused Family, you can watch my most recent video How to EXIT your Busy Mom Era Here.
This was how our family began focusing on the wellbeing of each person. It became evident that this was an important skill to teach my kids for two reasons:
#1 To teach them how to communicate their inner world + needs
#2 To notice + be mindful of the wellbeing of others
Although my kiddos are still very young, I know that these skills will continue to develop and help them to learn how to handle hard seasons in their life too.
Anyhow, I hope that you have a wonderful weekend… and Happy Parenting!
-Alexis
