Hey Mama!!
Recently, I found myself wondering, why did moms used to be happier?
I began doing some research and found a crazy statistic that shocked me.
I shared it in last week’s podcast episode, about 10 Old Fashioned Habits that Stay-at-Home Moms MUST Bring Back (you can watch it below):
After I began studying and researching for this episode, I ended up calling my grandfather.
I wanted real life experience.
Our conversation opened my eyes to so many habits that made life a bit easier, years ago.
But today, I wanted to dive a little deeper into Motherly Intuition.
In the comments, I had a few moms mention that this innate ability feels lost.
I want to be the encouragement that reminds you that Motherly Intuition IS possible. It doesn’t matter how old your children are….. and it’s also never too late. (I mean… never).
Before I had children, I believed that motherhood would come easily. I loved babies… and I also was very motherly to my sister who was 13 years younger than me. It wasn’t that long ago that I was nurturing that sweet girl.
But to my surprise 2 NICU stays and an undiagnosed Heart Condition filled me with the belief that my intuition couldn’t be trusted.
I’m sharing this part of my story because I want you to know that I had almost NO intuition. I listened to every baby expert and doctor… because I was told I didn’t know better.
But this IS NOT TRUE.
It is also possible to regain your innate ability to know what is best. It’s a gift every woman has been given.
I know what you are thinking…. How did you do it?!
Of course there are many factors to this, but the #1 thing I did…. was to begin trusting my own body.
This looked like becoming attuned to my feelings and needs.
I learned how to soothe and regulate my nervous system.
The natural unfolding of my motherly intuition came from safety within my own body.
If you are desiring to rediscover your motherly intuition, I encourage you to find a few minutes… grab a journal… and maybe a warm cup of tea…. and just listen to what your thoughts, your heart, and soul are trying to communicate.
It’s pretty amazing (and a little scary) to hear what’s going on in our inner world.
As you do this more often, you will begin to feel more comfortable…. with your thoughts…… and feelings that your are having.
Anyhow, I hope this email encouraged you to begin your path to rediscovering your motherly intuition….. Happy Parenting ❤️
