Hey Mama!!
Do you find yourself obsessing about your child? Maybe it’s milestones, growth charts, or even their behaviors.
Most modern moms struggle with this, too.
Last week, I talked about Things Modern Moms NEED to stop Obsessing Over (which you can watch below):
The #1 thing I obsessed over was sleep.
How much they slept… how long…. the wake windows…. yeah… alllllll the things.
Mainly because my first didn’t sleep for the first 6 months….. it felt like I was doing everything wrong……. NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRIED.
This obsession is what led to sleep training.
This is by far my BIGGEST regret of motherhood.
Not only did I miss out on precious snuggles and moments with her… but I severed the connection and attachment within our relationship.
It was because of this obsession that I first experienced the feeling of rage.
And it terrified me.
4 Year later, I realize that a LOT of moms struggle with rage around sleep.
If you are reading this and struggle with rage around your child’s sleep, I have 3 pieces of advice:
- #1 Let go of the Expectations around Sleep.
- #2 Read the Book: How the Eskimos Keep their Babies Warm (this is an affiliate link)
- #3 Get Curious about What Triggers you with Sleep and What beliefs surround that!
Journaling Prompt for this Week:
- What do you find yourself obsessing over with your kids? How could you loosen your grip?
As always, my previous workshops are ALWAYS available:
- Rekindling Connection (with your Kids)
- How to Stop Yelling
- Letting Go of Anger
If you are needing more encouragement, you can read past emails here! I hope you enjoy!
Anyhow, I hope this email has encouraged you…. and Happy Parenting!
