Hey Mama!
I wanted to let you know about some upcoming changes.
I will only be posting one Youtube Video every Wednesday at 8am PST.
Over the last couple of months, I’ve lost some of my creative spark…. and I know that means I need to take a little step back from youtube.
I will share a podcast episode every other week and a more inspirational-creative video in between.
Check out last week’s podcast about How to Super Simplify Your life as a SAHM (you can watch it below):
Recently, I’ve been noticing what I have capacity for. That’s partially why I’m slowing down on Youtube for a bit.
Have you ever thought about your choices through the lens of capacity?
At the beginning of my journey, I felt like I had capacity for nothing. Every tantrum, slight change in plan, or small hiccup in my day felt like it was exhausting.
This is partly what drew me into a slow, simple, and minimalistic lifestyle. I just didn’t have capacity to run at such high speeds anymore.
Here are some ways you can expand your capacity:
- Nervous System Work
- Decluttering – Ask yourself do I have time to care for this?
- Slowing Down
- Practicing Sabbath/Stillness
- Clarifying your Beliefs/Values
- Having Realistic Expectations
Last week, one of the moms in my practice was struggling with unrealistic expectations with her child’s behavior.
Well, she didn’t realize her expectations were unrealistic until we started diving into what was developmentally appropriate.
As we peeled back the layers of expectation, it was clear that just a small adjustment would give her more capacity to handle her child’s meltdowns.
We evaluated her belief systems around behaviors and created a more supportive belief that was aligned with what she valued.
The cool part was that she stayed calm through multiple meltdowns….. and since then… her child has had less meltdowns too!!
Anyhow, I hope you have a good rest of your week!
-Alexis
