The *secret* Happy Moms Don’t Tell you.

Hey Mama!!

At the beginning of my motherhood journey I wondered why some stay-at-home moms were so happy… while others seemed like they were drowning.

Little did I know, that I would become the mom who was miserable.

For the longest time I blamed this on my experiences as a mom (you know the whole 2x NICU thing)…

The truth is that I was completely dysregulated and had such high expectations for myself.

Last week, I shared the truth behind why some SAHM are happy…

I believe that there are a few things that set the happy SAHMs apart.

I go into detail about 7 things that I believe these mamas do differently.

But, today… I want to go into a little bit more detail about this emotion of happiness.

Obviously, we all want to be happy.

I think for most of us happiness is the goal. Right?

But what if this expectation that we SHOULD be happy all the time is what’s holding us back from experiencing it?

Read that again.

My point here is that we need to go through the dark valleys to know and enjoy the happy.

When we focus on handling, working through, and savoring each and every moment, we are less likely to experience drastic emotional swings.

The goal needs to be riding the waves of motherhood with grit, grace, and ease.

Notice how none of this describes perfection.

It takes time, practice, expansion, and whole hearted believing in ourselves to become this mother.

So today, I want to invite you to lower your expectations.

To make your goal ease vs. happiness.

With that being said, I hope you are feeling encouraged for the week ahead… Happy Parenting ❤️
