Hey Mama!
Oh man what a month.
The truth is….. I was really overwhelmed after we moved.
We were sick, everything was in boxes, and everyone was an emotional mess.
After setting up my new office, I decided to record a podcast about some toxic habits that were keeping me stuck in overwhelm (you can watch it below):
One of the most surprising things that was causing me overwhelm was the lighting.
I’ve always loved natural lighting and just never enjoyed LED lights. But in the thick of stress, I didn’t realize how much I needed Sunlight, Warm Lighting in our Home, and dim lights in the evening.
I’m officially in my lamp era 😂
Have you ever thought about the lighting that you are exposed to and how it’s affecting your overwhelm?
I’m honestly surprised by how much light disrupts my nervous system.
Here are some ways you can make light more supportive for your nervous system:
- Change Bulbs to Soft Warm Light
- Use only Natural Light during the Day
- Enjoy Candles at the dinner Table
- Lamps only at night (no overhead lights)
Hope you have a good rest of your week!
-Alexis
