Hey Mama!!
This past week, I found myself feeling overwhelmed, again.
As the holiday festivities have come to end, I’m still trying to unwind from all the hustle and bustle.
I’m grateful to have some tools for when I start to feel like life is Chaotic.
It’s funny because last week, I did my first Q+A and answered some questions from overwhelmed moms (which you can watch below):
I share how I approach these stressful and overwhelming seasons in this video.
But today, I want to dive a little deeper into 3 practical ways to PREVENT overwhelm.
#1 Brain Dump/Journal
My favorite way to do this is by taking a BLANK piece of computer paper, folding it in half like a card… and journaling EVERYTHING that’s on my mind. Sometimes this looks like a long list of to-dos… scatterbrained thoughts… or even prayer.
Tip: Sit down on the floor while your kids play… and journal!! Staying close to your kids will give you a little extra time to journal.
#2 Clean ALL your Surfaces.
I can’t remember where I saw this.. but women are more likely to become overwhelmed by clutter. I like using my Basket Cleaning Trick (which you can watch here).
Tip: When you don’t know where to begin on your to-do list.. do this first to bring a bit of clarity.
#3 Prioritize what’s Essential
Getting clear on what is essential or important for you will help you to prevent overwhelm. Instead of making a mental list.. or a physical list of 30 things (that you won’t actually get done today).. prioritize just 3… and if you get them all done.. move on to some other tasks that would help you feel prepared.
Tip: Read the book Essentialism by Greg McKeown. This has helped me to begin prioritizing what’s essential… versus.. non essential.
Next up…… Last Week’s Podcast episode!
Are you feeling drained… maybe even STUCK as a mom? Then this episode is for you!! (watch on Youtube below)
I deep dive into 3 areas that I believe we need to work on as moms.
Spoiler ALERT. #3 talks about being confident as a parent.
If you are needing confidence in HOW you show up as a parent, that’s what I help moms do with coaching.
| I’m currently FULL for the Month of January. But, I will be opening up more coaching spots at the end of the month… so keep your eyes out for that! In the meantime, my previous workshops are ALWAYS available: – Rekindling Connection (with your Kids) – How to Stop Yelling – Letting Go of Anger Purchase Workshops Here |
Anyhow, I hope you have a wonderful week…. and Happy Parenting ❤️
-Alexis
