Does motherhood feel harder than it should?
I called my mom crying the other day because motherhood felt HARD.. and overwhelming.
My husband has been working 6 day work weeks for 9 months… and I’m tired… and truthfully I feel like I’m failing a lot.
After venting my frustrations of the extra baby weight, no time to work out, my toddler waking up 2x in the night, and the exhaustion of being a full-time maid.. there was a long pause.
My mom softly said, “motherhood was a lot easier when I was raising you guys, there just wasn’t so many distractions.”
I wanted to come back with “yeah but…. I don’t have instagram any more.. I deleted Facebook off my phone..”
But what she said next had me in tears…. “your time is never your own. Someone or something is always asking for your attention.”
Even though I’ve been on this Slow Living/Intentional Motherhood journey for over a year…. gosh I might even say close to two years….. I STILL deal with soo much noise.
This was my wake up call to get curious about ways that I could slow down and be even more intentional.
So this week I am Focusing On:
#1 No Phone before 8am
#2 Single Tasking
#3 Journaling while My Kids Color
If you are feeling called to slow down, will you join me?
I know that every mom’s lifestyle is different, so pick a couple of habits that you would like to focus on… the ones that feel tangible for your lifestyle!
With that being said, I hope you have a wonderful week… and Happy Parenting ❤️
